Lady Jaguars Drop 64-49 Contest on the Road at Hancock to the 7th-Ranked Owls
The Lady Jaguars basketball team traveled to Hancock tonight for their final road game of the regular season, facing the 7th-ranked (Class A) Owls.
After falling behind 15-8 and 20-11 in the first half, they came back in the final four minutes of the first period to close the gap to a 20-16 deficit at the first buzzer.
They did not fare as well in the second half, however, as the high-pressure trapping defense of the Owls lit up the hardwood to help Hancock score 44 second-half points.
Scores from around the area:
BOYS BASKETBALL
Holdingford 50, Maple Lake 28
Osakis 59, Sauk Centre 48
The Lady Jaguars will host Pierz for Parents' Night tomorrow night (Friday) in their Central Minnesota Conference finale. A win over the Pioneers would lift them into a third-place tie (with the Pioneers), with an 8-6 finish.
