#*#@!!#!!!! Jaguars Baseball Suffers Two Losses to HL-W-W, CMC Title Contention in Jeopardy -- Track & Field Hosts CMC Meet -- Fastpitch Wins 6-4

A conference championship race for the Jaguars...

The Jaguars baseball team lost 14-6 and 4-0 in a home doubleheader to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted tonight.

They now need 2 small miracles to take place on May 15 when Pierz travels to Maple Lake, and on May 20 when they host HL-W-W. Pierz needs to lose both games.

A 3-way tie for the CMC championship is not out of the question. It's not a good position to be in, though, hoping for another team to lose for you to win a championship.

The Jaguars fastpitch team won their 11th game of the season against five losses with a come-from-behind win at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted by a 6-4 margin. They trailed 4-2 going into the sixth inning, when they pushed four runs across home plate.

Fastpitch scores:
Maple Lake 23, Pierz 2 (5 innings)
Rockford 8, Kimball 4
Kimball 11, Holdingford 10
Holdingford 13, Eden Valley-Watkins 7

The Jaguars boys track and field 4 x 100-meter relay team won the CMC Championship tonight. The teams did well even though the weather was terribly cold (for May 13!) The Sub-Section 5A-20 meet is next Tuesday, May 20, at the NL-S High School athletic field.

Also, congrad's go out to the Jaguars girls golf team, who finished the CMC schedule as runners-up by a small margin to champion Rockford. Two Jaguars finished as All-Conference (top 10), Whitney Bertram and Megan Herickhoff. They enter sub-section playoffs on Friday at the Benson Golf Club.
