Jaguars Volleyball Pounds on NL-S Wildcats in Willmar Tournament Championship, Moves to 22-1 Overall Going Into Final Two Weeks Before Playoffs
The Jaguars volleyball team won all four matches in 2-0 sweeps today at the 12th annual Willmar Cardinal Classic tournament. Seven of the eight teams at the tournament had winning records. It was a good day of volleyball.
In the championship against the Wildcats, the Jaguars took game one 25-23. In game two, they jumped out early and never let up, hammering away at the Wildcats' defense in a 25-11 match-clinching win.
The Jaguars are now 22-1 going into the final two weeks of regular season action.
On Monday, the Jaguars volleyball team travels to Morris Area to face a .500 Tigers team in non-conference action. They return to Central Minnesota Conference play on Thursday, at Kimball Area (9-5, 2-3 CMC). They have four regular season matches left. The school record for regular season wins is 25, set in 2006 when the Jaguars entered Section 6AA playoffs with a 25-3 record. The second-best season was a 24-2 record, set in 2005.
The Jaguars girls tennis team enters individual sub-sections on Wednesday, October 8th, at the NL-S High School tennis courts. Action begins at Noon. Dang I hope the weather is warm that day or it'll be tough for fans and players alike.
The Jaguars cross country teams perform in the Central Minnesota Conference championship meet on Thursday. The meet will be held in Kimball.
The Jaguars football team will try to erase bad memories of a recent 0-2 stretch in a road game at Kimball on Friday. The Cubs are 1-5, the Jaguars are 2-4.
