The Jaguars boys basketball game at Kimball Area will be postponed until another night. It will be important that this game is made up, of course, since it is a Central Minnesota Conference game. The Jaguars are in a tight race for the championship, fighting with 1st-place Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, as well as 3rd-place Pierz.
As of 10am in the Belgrade area, only 2-3 inches of snow had fallen.
As of 10am in the Hoffman-Kensington area (west of Alexandria), over 6 inches of snow had fallen.
By 2:00pm, Glenwood definitely has received 6 to 8 inches of snow.
Update at 4pm... I haven't heard if "The Train" will be airing Friday's Jaguars boys basketball game at Sauk Centre. They may be at Minnewaska Area High School that night covering the NL-S vs. Minnewaska girls basketball game, which is for the overall West Central Conference championship. NL-S won the North title, while Minnewaska repeated as South champions.
By the way, check out the "links" section at the right column... I found the link to the City of Brooten website. I have to say, it is impressive!
**Seedings are in for Sub-Section 6AA-East...The Jaguars got the 5-seed, not what I predicted but I guess we'll take it. They will open playoffs at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, facing the host Falcons (4-seed) in Grove City. The game will be held on Thursday, March 5 at 7:00pm.
Other seedings/matchups are as follows:
1- NL-S vs. 8- Melrose
2- Sauk Centre vs. 7- Paynesville
3- Albany vs. 6- Holdingford (a true border battle)
I also heard that Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta did in fact get the #1-seed in Sub-Section 6AA-West. West Central Area is the 2-seed, followed by Minnewaska Area. When I get records and full seedings for that half of Section 6AA, I will get it posted.
