It will be a busy week of sports for the Jaguars varsity programs, as the regular seasons wind down and playoffs loom on the horizon.
The Jaguars fastpitch non-conference game at K-M-S on Monday marks the first time ever the two schools will meet in fastpitch in the regular season. The game begins at 4:30 at the Murdock diamonds. K-M-S, who won the 2009 Camden Conference title, is almost a sure bet for the #1 seed in Sub-Section 3A-North. Last I checked (Sunday morning), the Fighting Saints had not been seeded yet.
The Jaguars boys golf team, who is chasing Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted in the CMC race by a slim 20-stroke margin after four meets, travels to Kimball for another league meet on Monday at 4:15.
...over the weekend, area results:
Fastpitch: Paynesville swept Benson in a West Central South Conference double-header by scores of 3-1 and 7-4. The Bulldogs are 11-3 in the WCCS and 14-3 overall.
