The Jaguars Volleyball team won its 23rd match of the season in a 3-0 sweep tonight against the Osakis Silverstreaks. The match was broadcast on Glenwood's Smooth Magic 107.1 FM. Game scores were 25-6, 25-13, 25-17.
Osakis falls to 17-6-3 overall. They are the 2009 Prairie Conference champions with a 9-1 league record and one of the top teams in Sub-Section 5A-South. They were no match, however, for the power and balance of the Jaguars volleyball team.
The Jaguars improve to 23-5 overall, with one match remaining in the regular season. This Thursday they will travel to Holdingford (9-13-1, 2-4 CMC) to close out the Central Minnesota Conference schedule. They already have the CMC title wrapped up with their 6-0 record. Pierz and Kimball both hold down second place at 4-2 each.
The Thursday night match at Holdingford will also be aired on Smooth Magic 107.
**Tuesday night, the Jaguars football team (2-5, 2-4 CMC) will attempt to pick up their third win of the season with a road game at Holdingford. That game will be aired on Smooth Magic 107. The Huskers are 4-3 overall and 4-2 in the CMC.
All that B-B-E coverage has led sports broadcaster Dave McClurg to dub this week "Jaguars Week" - thanks for the coverage, Dave!
