The number-seven state ranked Jaguars Volleyball team is seeded number one for the third straight season for playoffs, and fifth time in the last six seasons.
They will host the winner of Thursday night's Eden Valley-Watkins vs. Upsala match for the Sub-Section 5A-South quarterfinals.
That will be held this Friday at 7pm at home.
If the Jaguars win, they would get a second home playoff match next Tuesday (November 3rd) against the other remaining team still alive.
EV-W (3-18, 1-6 CMC) is the #5 seed in the southwest pod, while Upsala (18-5-1, 8-2 Prairie) is seeded number four.
The seven-team southwest pod is very competitive, with Kimball Area (20-6) at number two, Osakis (17-6-3) at number three, and Upsala (18-5-1) at number four.
In the northwest pod of Section 5A, Sebeka (20-5-1) swiped the #1 seed from Bertha-Hewitt (25-4), mostly due to their 3-0 sweep of the Bears on October 22 in the Park Region conference championship.
Sebeka and Bertha-Hewitt are odds-on favorites to battle one another for the right to face the Jaguars in the Sub-Section Section 5A-West championship match, which will be held on Thursday, November 5th at Brainerd High School. (That assumes that the Jaguars will win their first two matches in the sub-section.)
