Jaguars Boys Basketball roughs up Brandon-Evansville 73-51 on Saturday afternoon - Jaguars Danceline defeats Bagley, Barnesville, and Crookson

The Jaguars improve to 6-2 overall with the win over the fellow sub-section rival Brandon-Evansville Chargers this afternoon.

After a hot start in the first half where they opened up a 19-5 lead in the first nine minutes, Jaguars cooled down and let the Chargers make a run to close a big deficit to five points, 28-23 at the break.

The Jaguars had a couple big runs in the second half to blow the game open, leading 56-34 with under nine minutes left in the game.

The Chargers fall to 1-9 overall with the loss.

Interesting fact: Two Central Minnesota Conference teams who won or shared a string of conference titles from 2003 through 2008, Rockford and Pierz, are a combined 3-16 to start this season. The 0-9 record of Pierz is very deceiving, though, as they've played a brutal schedule against very good Class AA and AAA competition.

The Jaguars Danceline performed at the 14th annual Alexandria Cardinal Invitational this afternoon.

They defeated three teams in the Class A Jazz Funk division, totaling 13 teams. They placed 10th, ahead of Bagley, Barnesville, and Crookston.

Ross Rath at 103, Brent Goodenbour at 135, Patrick Rooney at 140, and Ben Borgerding at 171 all earned runner-up honors at the tournament for the Jaguars.

Tyler Tensen (112) earned fourth place, while Dillon Knutson and Austin Jaeger made it to the semi-finals but then lost out, missing Final Four berths yet helping out with additional team points for their performances.
