Minnewaska Area wrestling is 7-8 overall in duals this season. They started 0-4 and 1-7 before rallying to win six of their past seven matches. The Lakers defeated Holdingford 35-32 on January 26.
The Jaguars have a good shot against the Lakers, and it's a must-win situation if they wish to climb in the 12-team Section 5A standings, where they currently sit near the bottom of the pack.
**Update at 5pm - the meet was cancelled.
The Jaguars girls basketball team hosts Central Minnesota Conference front-runner Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted tonight. In a nutshell, I like the Jaguars' chances. They need to get hot in February and pick up some wins in order to get out of the bottom tier of the Sub-Section 6A-South standings.
HL-W-W girls basketball is 15-4 overall and 8-0 in the CMC, holding a two-game lead over second-place Rockford (13-5, 6-2 CMC). They defeated the Jaguars in a competitive game back in December by a 53-39 margin.
**The Jaguars danceline squad will perform at halftime, while the B-B-E Pep Band will also show their talents during pre-game and at halftime.
The Jaguars boys basketball team travels to Dawson tonight in a non-conference game against the 8-5 Blackjacks, who are 5-2 in the Camden North Conference.
The Jaguars (14-2, 7-1 CMC) will look to make it two straight over Dawson-Boyd, who they defeated last season in their first-ever matchup by a 62-46 score in December 2008.
