Early in the 2010 season opening game between the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars and the West Central Area Knights in Barrett on September 3, the Jaguars defense bent but did not break as they gave up a couple long gains deep in WCA territory but then nabbed a fumble recovery by Tucker Cebulla.
With the outcome of the game still hanging in the balance, B-B-E leading 7-0 in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, the Jaguars drove into the heart of the WCA territory red zone. A costly penalty kept them out of the endzone, however, and they lost possession on downs at the WCA 15 yard line.
Following the game, Coach Moscho talked a little about the development of his team's game on both sides of the ball, "Our running game came to life. We had some missed opportunities especially inside the red zone, but we played good enough defense to make up for it. We bent but didn't break."
Other comments from Coach Moscho are in this week's Bonanza Valley Voice. See more on the game a bit further below.
