Jaguars girls basketball team's furious comeback bid falls short to Holdingford - Jaguars wrestlers lose close one at Holdingford

Junior Raeann Sorenson led the Jaguars with 22 points and two three pointers tonight against Holdingford.

Early in the first half tonight, the Jaguars girls basketball team trailed visiting Holdingford 14-5.

The Huskers expanded on a 31-24 halftime lead to go up 48-30 with seven minutes left in the game. The Jaguars made a run at them down the stretch, but it was not enough.

Final score: Holdingford 58, B-B-E 54. The Huskers improved to 2-2 in the CMC and 5-5 overall.

B-B-E, who fell to 1-3 in the CMC and 3-6 overall, will travel to CMC front-runner Pierz on Friday night. That game will be aired on Smooth Magic 107 FM of Glenwood. Visit their website to listen to the game online: http://www.kmgk1071.com/

The Jaguars wrestling team battled Holdingford on the road on Tuesday night in a CMC dual. They started out strong, building a 15-3 lead that included two pins by Ross Rath ((112) and Tyler Tensen (119). After Holdingford came back to win five straight matches and go up 28-15, the Jaguars earned a pin (Dillon Knutson, 171) and a forfeit (Erik Swenson, 189) to build a slim 31-28 lead. The Huskers won the final two matches with a pin and a technical fall to win their 10th dual meet of the season. Final score: Holdingford 39, B-B-E 31.


The wrestling team is in action on Thursday night at the Osakis Triangular, which also includes United North Central. (UNC is a pairing between Sebeka and Menagha) The Jaguars face UNC at approximately 6:30pm, followed by the Osakis match up at 8pm. Osakis is 5-3 in duals this year.
