Coach Gossen fires up his offensive unit during a late-game timeout tonight at Lester Prairie...the Jaguars had 4th down at the LP/HT 18-yard line with 2 yards to go to convert. They converted and got to the 15 with a first down, but things did not go well over the final 65 seconds of the game...
The Jaguars football team lost 22-21 to finish to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in the Section 4A playoffs.
The Bulldogs won the game on a 2-point conversion pass to take a 22-21 lead late in the fourth quarter.
What makes it sting is the fact that the Jaguars came out of halftime on fire, drove down field for a touchdown score to go up 21-6...but LP/HT responded with great plays over the final 1 1/2 quarters of the game. The Jaguars definitely had their chances down the stretch, though.
In the other Section 4A semifinal, Kimball Area destroyed #2-seed Le Centre 28-0. The Cubs led 28-0 at halftime.
Kimball Area and LP/HT square off next Friday, Nov. 4 at the Orono football stadium in the championship game.
A few football scores that I know so far:
Sauk Centre 48, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 0 !!!!!
Pierz 20, Holdingford 0
Paynesville Area 60, Eden Valley-Watkins 24 (WOW; Bulldogs led 22-18 at halftime)
BOLD 28, Benson 7
Annandale 14, Albany 9
More to follow later.
