Jaguars pull away over final few minutes of the 1st half to lead by double digits at Pierz...they end up winning to cap a 26-0 regular season!

Kirby Montbriand hit this pull up jumper with 86 seconds left in the first half to put the Jaguars up 35-22...
Halftime score: B-B-E 36, Pierz 25. The Pioneers had a one-point deficit, down 22-21, with 5:42 left in the first half. The Jaguars went on an 8-0 run to open up the lead to 30-21 with 2:35 on the clock.

With under 14 minutes left in the first half tonight...

The second half has been quite a battle, and the Jaguars have a 45-38 lead with 10:22 on the clock. The Pioneers have made three three-point shots in the last 2 1/2 minutes of the game to erase a double-digit deficit.

More action from the first half...

Final score: B-B-E 73, Pierz 64.

A game story is being posted at the Sauk Centre Herald website before I leave Pierz.

Did you know? The winning streak for B-B-E in the conference doesn't mean much to me right now. The fact remains that Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted won 44 conference games in a row in the CMC from 2000 to 2002, and B-B-E's not there yet. Now, of course, we set our sights on the playoffs...and again, however many wins they've got in a row in the regular season or the conference won't get them anywhere in the postseason. I am thankful to know our team is about as level-headed and laser-focused on "one game at a time" as any in the state. Right as the final horn sounded tonight in Pierz, there wasn't any type of celebration by the players. It was just another game to them, and they are anything but satisfied with what they've accomplished so far.

Still, 26 wins is nothing to sneeze at!

Awesome! At 23:42 on Saturday night, as I was wrapping up some last edits on my web articles, photos and video, I noticed on my "hit counter" on this website that it read 110,000! A total of 404 individual people have visited this website today alone!
