It was a great night for the Jaguars wrestling team at the New London-Spicer tournament, as they ended up taking third place behind Lakeville South and the champion Wildcats.
Patrick Rooney and Tyler Tensen won their respective weight brackets, while Josey Tensen was runner-up in a tough field at 120 pounds. Alex Schramel had a very strong showing and got second place in his bracket. Matt Schmitz took third place, while varsity rookies Ben Thompson and Ben Feuerhake both got fourth place.
The Jaguars tallied 174 team points, while Lakeville South had 180. NL-S earned somewhere in the low 200s.
At a triangular in Pierz, the Paynesville Area Bulldogs lost 53-12 to the Pioneers (17-2).
*Just saw this: minnesota-scores.net is reporting that Brandon-Evansville's boys' basketball team defeated Battle Lake in the Evansville gymnasium by a 53-50 score tonight. I don't believe it and have to see it from another source. Also, this I do believe...another boys' basketball score in a make up game tonight: Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 70, Holdingford 28.
Also, on Saturday morning at 7:30am, Coach Anderson of B-B-E's girls' basketball team will be on Smooth Magic 107 for an interview with D-Mac.
Alright...good grief...the Battlers blew a 40-22 halftime lead! Wow! http://www.craigolsonsports.com/newsarticle.php?yid=1213&nid=59609
