Here's a wrestling article at the Sauk Centre Herald website

Just posted. Click here to view: http://saukherald.com/main.asp?SectionID=8&SubSectionID=402&ArticleID=14905
(There is where you can watch the 12 minute, 38-second clip from the end of tonight's match against Kimball Area.)

B-B-E senior Lee Borgerding shown ready to shoot for a takedown during the 195-pound match. He gave an outstanding effort in a 10-6 loss.

Wow! This is crazy. I just noticed that the Kimball Area wrestler who Ben Feuerhake competed against during tonight's heavyweight match is ranked FOURTH in the latest Guillotine poll. (Tim Konz, a senior). Ben may have lost by pin, but he trailed only 1-0 going into the last period of the match. On January 31 he was pinned only 23 seconds into the second period.

Tonight, half of the heavyweight match was over before any scoring took place. Konz earned an escape with 1:25 left in the second period.

We definitely love our Jaguars!

I won't get much sleep for awhile...the adrenaline's still there from the exciting, albeit heartbreaking, evening. It was great to see at least two of Coach Vos's brothers in the stands. His spirit lives on with our Jaguar wrestlers.

A few extra notes on state-rankings for some Kimball wrestlers: sophomore Blane Tschida is ranked #2 at 113 pounds; senior Marcus Hamer is ranked #3 at 138 pounds; sophomore Quinten Berres is the top-ranked wrestler at 126 pounds; senior Travis Wills at 182 pounds is ranked 6th; junior Austin Schiefelbein is ranked #7 at 220 pounds.

By the way, A-C-GC takes a 22-1 record into the Class A state tournament; they were ranked #2 in the latest Guillotine poll. Jackson County Central (19-2) is #1.

Area wrestling playoff scores on February 15:
(Section 6AA) Foley 53, Annandale/Maple Lake 15
(Section 6AA) Becker 41, New London-Spicer 22
(Section 6AA finals) Foley 35, Becker 13 with Falcons advancing to the state meet
(Section 5A semifinal) A-C-GC 61, Paynesville Area 9
(Section 7A finals) Pierz 39, Holdingford 18 (Pioneers make 'state' for the 2nd year in a row)

I won't get additional photos or videos posted until Saturday night. I'll be with the B-B-E 6th grade boys' basketball team at St. Cloud State University for a Pacesetter basketball tournament all day. Come to think of it, we hit the road less than 7 hours from now. Good night!
