Bel-Fest 125th is this weekend...and some fall sports notes

Activities start on Friday night and continue through Saturday night in Belgrade. I believe most garage sale activity is on Friday and Saturday. I'll get more scheduling information posted as I have time to today or tonight.

I just glanced at some fall varsity schedules and can report the following:

The volleyball team opens on Monday, August 26 at home against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta. They get their second match underway only a day later at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City high school in Grove City. I also noticed a couple neat changes: Sauk Centre is back on the non-conference schedule, a good change after they were unable to play each other last year; the St. Michael-Albertville tournament is replaced by the Alexandria Invite, held on October 12 at Jefferson High School.

Also, the first week of practice for the C/B/varsity volleyball teams will be at the high school while work is completed at the elementary.

The girls' tennis team begins their competitive season on Friday, August 16 with a home triangular against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area and Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd. The JV tennis team begins on Saturday, August 24 with a home match against Milbank.

The football team opens on Friday, August 30 against section rival Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity.
