More from the big Homecoming win last night

Greatest football fans in central Minnesota! So proud of them and the fantastic cheering they displayed.
The coaches and players gather at the end of the field with their 3rd straight Homecoming win.

And another great sight: Kollman battering the Lakers defense last night:
Austin Kollman runs for a big gain in the first quarter against HL-W-W.

Austin Kollman ran in both second-half touchdowns for the Jaguars football team. They earned a second-half shut out against a conference opponent for the 2nd time in a row. Now THAT was fun!

Kollman shattered Austin Kampsen's single-game rushing record that stood since October 12, 2007 when Kampsen battered the Holdingford Huskers defense to the tune of 288 rushing yards in a 29-26 win. (That night was fun too!) Kampsen had 33 carries, and he broke Jordan Weller's single-game record at the time. Weller ran for 279 yards on Homecoming night, September 30, 2005 when the Jaguars beat Kimball Area 39-26.

I just read that A-C-GC had a 20-0 lead in Paynesville last night before caving in the 2nd half. The Bulldogs erupted with a flurry of offense while outscoring the Falcons 24-7 in the fourth quarter. Whew! The Bulldogs led 32-20 before the Falcons got a late touchdown and PAT to get within five for the final score. Paynesville is 4-0 and will likely move up in the Class AA rankings. They won in spite of 3 lost fumbles and 1 interception while A-C-GC had no interceptions and only one lost fumble.

Which reminds me, back to the Jaguars...if memory serves me right, last night's Homecoming game had no turnovers (NOPE wrong!). It was a real smashmouth, rock 'em sock 'em type of game. HL-W-W looked nothing like they've been the last 2-3 years. They really held their blocks, and their quarterback (Joe Aalid) played a near flawless game. Luckily for Jaguar fans, our team was just plain better in the second half and didn't dig a big hole before halftime either.

Here's the National Anthem! Sung by a B-B-E choir and football team member, Kayle Benesh (Class of 2017)...

B-B-E is now 3-1 overall for only the 2nd time in school history (2-1 Central MN Conf.)...HL-W-W is 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the CMC. The last time the Jaguars won 3 of their first 4 games, it was 1988, and Dennis Weimerskirch/Julius Evenson were at the helm of the program. They finished 7-1 before playoffs, won the Prairie Lakes Conference and went 1-1 in the Section 4B playoffs. Their 8-2 final record stands to this day as the best football record ever at B-B-E.
