Wild game plays out in Benson

The Jaguars girls' basketball team built a 33-22 lead at halftime thanks in large part to hot three-point shooting. Paynesville then employed a box-and-one defense on a Jaguar shooter and fought back to force overtime with regulation play tied at 43-43.

The game ended after two overtimes with the Jaguars (2-0) on top 49-43. Neither team scored in the first overtime period, while the Jaguars got the only points of the second overtime to take the win.

Up next: a rematch with none other than Paynesville (2-1) next Thursday night in a home game. *Also that night, the B-B-E Dazzlers dance team will be in action. The JV Kick Dazzlers will go at halftime of the JV game, while the varsity kick Dazzlers will perform at halftime of the varsity basketball game that night.
