Friday Night Lights II: an ugly loss

The Jaguars played an ugly first half of football with countless mistakes, and at halftime they are losing 24-0 at Browerville. Final: Browerville/Eagle Valley 38, B-B-E Jaguars 8. The state-ranked Tigers out gained the Jaguars in total yards by a 354 to 189 margin; of B-B-E's 189 total yards, 182 came on the ground. Both teams had three turnovers: two lost fumbles each, and one interception apiece.

This was a tough game to cover. The Jaguars beat themselves throughout the entire first half and repeated some of that in the second half. They punched through a touchdown on their first possession of the third quarter after the defense rose up and stopped Browerville on the first drive after halftime. When the Jaguars got into the red zone on offense, time after time they choked (see video below).

Other updates:
At halftime Pierz is ahead of Melrose 14-0. Their game was put on hold at halftime due to multiple lightning strikes. They resumed after 10 p.m., and last I heard it was 21-0 Pierz. Final: Pioneers won 34-0!! Holy smokes!!

I see that sixth-ranked Upsala/Swanville Area lit up Parkers Prairie earlier today to hand the Panthers their first loss of the season. USA is 3-0, while Parkers Prairie is 2-1. Next for the Jaguars is a home game against Parkers Prairie for Week Four on Friday, September 11.

Here's video from a drive that covered the end of the third quarter and then stalled out in the opening seconds of the fourth quarter:
