Luck of the Irish

Maple Lake pulls out a 45-42 win tonight over the visiting B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team. The Irish led 8-0 with 10:44 left in the first half, but a buzzer-beater shot on a rebound by Derek Wiener tied the game 21-21 at halftime.

After going 3-11 in the Central Minnesota Conference last season, the Jaguars finished 7-7 this time around. They had an interesting trek through the conference schedule this year after starting 3-0, then falling to 3-3. They were 7-3 at one point in a tie for second place before losing four straight in conference play to end the season.
