Battle for the Keg
In this summer's first meeting of the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team and Spring Hill, fans were not disappointed as the top two teams in the Stearns County League North slugged it out for an extra-innings contest. After 10 innings, the Saints came out on top by a 6-5 score to improve to 6-1 in the division. Spring Hill falls to 7-3.
Spring Hill took a 1-0 lead before Elrosa scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. James Kuefler hit a three-RBI home run, and Matt Schmitz followed with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. Trailing 5-1, Spring Hill stormed back to force a 10th inning with the score tied 5-5 after nine innings.
