The B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team gave hometown fans a treat tonight with a quick 3-0 sweep over Browerville on Parents Night. Game scores were 25-13, 25-10, 29-27. The Tigers are 10-13 coming out of this match. I was unable to stay beyond the first few serves in game one, as I traveled to the high school for a school board meeting at 19:30.
The Jaguars are now 20-4 overall with their first 20-win season since they finished 20-10 overall in the 2015 season. They prepare for a long road trip to Pierz tomorrow (Tuesday) to wrap up the Central Minnesota Conference schedule; they need a win over the Pioneers (5-16, 2-4) in order to gain a share of the CMC title. The team was last CMC champions in 2015.
Looking ahead: the Jaguars close out the regular season with a home match next Monday, October 22, against Swanville. The Bulldogs (8-15, 4-6 Prairie South) are also a sub-section rival like Browerville.
*Added late Monday night...here's video at the Bonanza Valley Voice website of the National Anthem being performed A capella style: https://www.bonanzavalleyvoice.com/story/2018/10/11/bbe/b-b-e-choir-singer-performs-national-anthem/717.html.
Also, the Sub-Section 5A-South playoffs will begin at home on Friday, October 26 at 7 p.m. against an opponent TBD. This is all I can post for tonight. I have somewhere between six and eight stories to write before I can get to sleep - depending on how ambitious I am past midnight.
