This is a tremendous day for the wrestling team! I want to get a few area wrestling and basketball scores posted from the past couple of days. The weekend has been very hectic with Santa Claus visiting both Elrosa and Brooten, and much of my office/administrative work has taken a beating.
Wrestling notes from the area:
Minnewaska Area had a strong showing at the 11-team Big Lake Invitational on Saturday. The Lakers took third place behind champion Sartell-St. Stephen and runner-up Big Lake.
After day one of the Paul Bunyan Invitational, Pierz sits in fourth place out of 13 teams; they trail Brainerd, Frazee and Foley.
Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg took third place (135.5 points) out of six teams in Willmar on Friday. Willmar was champions (243 points), while St. Cloud Tech took second (141.5 points).
