Playoffs continue: semis!

At Little Falls tonight, the No. 1-seeded B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team trails Kerkhoven 12-10 with seven minutes to go. The neighboring rivals are squaring off in the Sub-Section 5A-South semifinals.

Update: at halftime, the No. 5-seeded Fighting Saints have a 20-15 lead.

For B-B-E, Grace Illies is the leading scorer with seven points and the only made three-pointer of the first half.

For K-M-S, Katie Krieger leads the team and all scorers with eight points.

*Update: with under 14 minutes left in the game, K-M-S has a 22-20 lead over B-B-E. Later, the Jaguars tied the game at 22-22 with a 15-footer by Macie Kirckof.

**Update! The Jaguars have taken the lead! They are ahead 35-23 on a shot by Cassandra Tensen with under eight minutes left in the game!

**State wrestling updates:
Walker Bents won his consolation bracket final match by a 5-4 decision to advance to the third-place match! In the final match, he earned the third place bronze medal with a win by a 4-2 decision! He finishes 45-6 overall with a state medal at 106 pounds!

Blaine Fischer won his consolation bracket final match by a 5-0 decision. In the third-place match, Fischer earned a bronze medal with a win by fall (3:47) at 120 pounds! His third-place finish gave him a final season record of 39-10.

At 138 pounds, Tyler Bents won his consolation bracket final match by a 5-3 decision. In the third-place match, he lost a 4-1 decision. His final season record is 44-3, with two of the three losses coming in the state tournament.
