The JV match wrapped up just shy of 7 p.m. I don't have complete scores, but I know the JV Jaguars won a set by a 28-26 score after holding earlier leads of 20-16 and 25-24.
The varsity teams are about to begin pre-match drills at about 7 p.m.
I am very happy that the MSHSL has given their blessing to allow spectators at volleyball. The limit is two spectators per player.'
*Update: in the first set, the Jaguars built an 8-4 lead before falling into a 10-10 tie with the Falcons. They scored four in a row after that to go up 14-10. The lead shrunk to 16-15, but the Falcons then hit into the net to make it 17-15.
Liz French had a kill and an ace serve to put the Jaguars ahead 19-17. After a 20-20 tie, the Jaguars led 21-20 and then got a kill from Karsee Kampsen for a 22-20 lead. Ava Mueller had a kill for a 23-21 lead. Mueller had an ace serve to bring game point at 24-21.
ACGC had a kill to thwart the set loss. Then they earned an ace tip against a block for a 24-23 score. The Jaguars hit out of bounds for a 24-24 tie. ACGC then served long for a 25-24 Jaguar lead. Mueller's ace serve then handed the Jaguars a 26-24 win.
*Update: in the second set, Abby Berge with a kill and it's 9-4 in game two!
Later, after an ACGC timeout, Karissa Jones had a kill for a 17-10 lead. Kylie Winter's ace serve made it 18-10. A kill by Mueller made it 19-10, and ACGC called their last timeout.
The lead swelled to 22-12 on an ACGC hitting error. Then a B-B-E service error made it 22-13. ACGC hit into the net for a 23-13 lead. The Jaguars hit long for a 23-14 score. Paige Rupp's ace block brought game point at 24-14. A kill by Berge gave the Jaguars a 25-14 win. It's a minute shy of 20:00.
*Update from the third set...a kill by Jones gave the Jaguars an 18-8 lead, and the Falcons called a timeout.
