I just looked at the February 10 state rankings that were just released by Minnesota Basketball News. The B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team has climbed one spot to No. 5 in the Top 10! That is amazing!
I also found it noteworthy to see that Hancock's girls' basketball team has cracked the Top 10 and stands at the No. 10 spot with an 8-0 record.
Section 5A rival Pine River-Backus is ranked No. 9 with a 7-0 record.
In Class 2A, New London-Spicer holds the No. 1 ranking, while Sauk Centre sits at No. 4. Both teams are 6-0.
I've added at least a couple more photo albums to the 2021 winter sports folder on the Bonanza Valley Voice SmugMug gallery. Here's the master link: https://bonanzavalley.smugmug.com/BBE-Jaguar-20-21-winter-sports.
And in case you were wondering, right about when school started on Thursday morning, the temperature has climbed to 10 below zero. Yikes! Today we are expected to get up to four below zero as a high. Tonight the temperature has been forecast to drop to 22 below zero.
**Just in case I don't get it added later today...below is the live video player for the home wrestling triangular. It begins at 5 p.m.
Action at 5 p.m. will feature the Jaguars taking on Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. The last dual will include B-B-E and Benson.
*Update: more updates in a new blog post.
