STEP V: HEADING TO THE FINAL FOUR!

GOOD GRIEF! THAT WAS FUN!

The Jaguars are heading to the State Final Four!!!!!!!!!!!

Final: B-B-E 76, West Central Area 71.

BELIEVE IT!

**Here's a video clip from the final seconds of tonight's game:

Sophomore Abby Berge led all scorers with a career-high 27 points. The Jaguars shot 46 percent from the floor and made 25 of 42 free throw attempts.

WCA was "as advertised" and knocked down 10 three-pointers in the game.

I checked some of my notes, and I saw that West Central Area held a 44-41 lead with 14:23 left in the second half. Later, with six minutes to go, the Jaguars were ahead 66-58. So for the middle eight minutes or so in that second half, the Jaguars outscored WCA 25-14.

Next is the Class 1A semifinals, which will be held next Tuesday at Target Center in Minneapolis. The opponent as far as I know will not be determined until tomorrow night. According to the brackets I have, the Jaguars with play at 10 a.m., but I haven't confirmed that.

*Schedule UPDATE: the Jaguars (22-1) will play at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at Target Center in Minneapolis in the Class 1A state semifinals. They face the winner of tomorrow's Sleepy Eye St. Mary vs. Mayer Lutheran quarterfinal game.

More to follow much later tonight. And it will be brief because I have a huge newspaper to print in the morning. You won't believe how many pages until you see it for yourself.
