Two championship playoff wins (VIDEOS)

Not much blogging time today, but I hope to get to it more tonight...

**Here's video featuring the final 91 seconds of the Hancock game on Tuesday at Minnewaska Area:

The B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team won 71-44 that night to win the sub-section title.

**Here's the exciting moment when the Jaguars earned their trip to state!

Additional state tournament information will be added to this blog post on Saturday night. There is more in the blog post added this morning about state seeding.

Sleepy Eye St. Mary's was ranked No. 3 in the latest Class 1A Minnesota Basketball News state rankings. They are very, very good!

I see that Hancock won the Class 1A state girls' basketball championship by a 54-43 score over Minneota. The Owls hammered Mayer Lutheran 71-40 in the semifinal round. This is Hancock's second girls' basketball state title in school history. Their first came in 1997. Hancock last appeared at the state tournament in 2011, when they finished in fourth place.

**Here's a video clip from the pre-dual handshakes at Xcel Energy Center on Thursday, March 5...it seems so long ago, but that was just a couple of weeks ago.

Also, I am reading the rules on the state tournament at Williams Arena, which is on the campus of the University of Minnesota. They still have a lengthy list of COVID rules. For STARTERS I recommend always having a water bottle in your hand, and if you get grief from staff because your facemask is around your neck (where mine will absolutely be the entire time), point to your water bottle. That's MY TWO CENTS! Remember: B-B-E high school hasn't had ONE SINGLE case of COVID in over 6 weeks! Think about that!!!

More to come.
