B-B-E baseball earns No. 1 seed (VIDEO)
A late-season win against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg helped the B-B-E Jaguars baseball team earn the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Sub-Section 6A-South playoffs. They begin with a first-round game on Tuesday (details below). If the Jaguars lose that game, their season is over. If they win on Tuesday, they advance to the semifinals and the double-elimination part of the Section 6A tournament. The semifinal round is at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 at Morris.
Seeded No. 2 is K-M-S, while Border West is the No. 3 seed. At No. 4 is Upsala/Swanville Area, and they host No. 5 Benson in their quarterfinal game on Tuesday.
In Sub-Section 6A-North, New York Mills (16-4) is the top seed; they beat the Jaguars out of the Section 6A playoffs six games deep last year on their way to a third-place finish at the state tournament. The Eagles, who won the Section 6A title in 2019, 2021 and 2022, are followed by No. 2-seeded Parkers Prairie and No. 3-seeded Browerville.
Here's Parents and Seniors Night video from two nights ago in Elrosa:
The Jaguars (8-11 overall) open the playoffs at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 on the home diamond in Elrosa against No. 8-seeded St. John's Prep.
In Elrosa last night, the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team won 8-0 against Roscoe to square their record at 2-2 on the season. Ethan Vogt pitched a complete-game win with just three hits across nine innings. Vogt had six strikeouts and no walks.
