Close losses on the diamonds
We had some close losses for our fastpitch and baseball teams tonight.
The Holdingford Huskers prevailed in hard-fought Central Minnesota Conference battles tonight against our B-B-E Jaguars fastpitch team. In game one, the Huskers won 11-6. In game two, the Jaguars jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning. They led 6-2 after the second inning and 7-4 after the third inning, but the Huskers scored 8 runs in the bottom of the fourth and earned the series sweep with a 12-10 come-from-behind win. The Jaguars out-hit the Huskers 13-12 in game two.
Holdingford finished the CMC schedule with a 5-9 record. The Jaguars are 2-16 overall going into the final game of the regular season, which is tomorrow at Upsala. They appear to be zeroing in on the No. 5 seed in Sub-Section 3A-North. Playoffs begin next Tuesday.
Kimball Area won the CMC fastpitch title with a 13-1 record.
In Atwater, the B-B-E Jaguars baseball team lost a heartbreaker by a 4-3 score to the A-C-GC Falcons. They take a 6-6 overall record into tomorrow's doubleheader at Maple Lake.
That's all I've got right now.
