More football coverage...and a song (VIDEOS)
The B-B-E Jaguars football team won the home opener in their Week 3 match up with the Benson Braves. The final score was 58-17 after the Jaguars led 42-10 at halftime as they forged the program's first 3-0 start to a season.
Here's a video from prior to the kickoff:
Against Benson, the Jaguars ran 22 plays in the first half and piled up 283 yards. It was a sight!
Here's the starter introductions before the Jaguars faced Benson:
Also at this blog post, I'll add the full varsity schedule for the upcoming week. That will come on Monday morning. Stay tuned!
This week's varsity schedule:
Monday, September 18: Volleyball at K-M-S; C and JV-squad matches start at 6 p.m.
Tuesday: cross country is at Melrose.
Thursday: tennis competes at the Prairie Conference tournament in Osakis starting at 10 a.m.; volleyball is at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City; cross country is at the Kimball golf course.
Friday: the football team hosts A-C-GC.
I attended the funeral for Jerry VanderBeek, a farmer from Bangor Township who passed away unexpectedly on September 9. He was the father of one of my classmates, Chris, who now lives in Rosemount. Below is a video that I recorded as guests sang 'How Great Thou Art' early in the service.
VIDEO from First Baptist Church in Glenwood:
Some may recognize the woman up front leading everyone in song. That would be the one and only Linda Wharton, a graduate of Brooten high school who was an infant caretaker/teacher at the Jaguar Kids Connection day care from 2006 until her retirement on May 26, 2023. She is the best!!! The very best. Such a wonderful person. We hope she is enjoying the retired life. She has earned it.
I won't get a new blog post added until after the K-M-S match tonight. I will be traveling there to cover it live, so the road time will delay blogging most likely until after 10 p.m.
Update...
At KMS, the volleyball team won 3-0. More to come in a new blog post!
