Volleyball, cross country, tennis in action tonight
Taylor Nelson and Taylor Pieper are both in action tonight in a cross country meet with the B-B-E/Paynesville squad at the Little Crow Golf Course near New London.
The B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team is at Kimball Area. The match is streamed online on a subscription fee with the NFHS Network. I briefly looked into it, and it's not a terrible fee at $80 a year. Their subscription is good for multiple schools throughout Minnesota.
The B-B-E Jaguars girls' tennis team hosts Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area at 4 p.m. in a Prairie Conference match.
Mark Weller and Deb Breitbach and others hosted another terrific Farmers Market tonight at the city park in Brooten. The response was strong for the first hour or so, but then it clouded up and started to rain. I was there with family selling tomatoes, zucchini, green peppers and squash. This is a really, really fun event to be part of!! My family had the honor of being set up next to Dave and Terri Weller, who were selling the most amazing homegrown apples! Delicious!! By 6 o'clock, we had to pull the plug and close up camp due to an ongoing steady drizzle. The rain was needed, even if it didn't turn out to much.
If you want to get caught up on what's happening locally in the coming weeks, I'm updating the newspaper's online community calendar shortly. You can find that by clicking here: B-B-E Community Calendar.
Volleyball updates and more to come later in a new blog post.
