Let's hear some Nickelback! (VIDEOS)
I've got more Nickelback videos to share. It's been 34 days since the Nickelback concert was held at the FargoDome. My wife and I had a nice Thursday night getaway right in the midst of Homecoming week. While I missed a terrific volleyball match against Maple Lake (the Jaguars won 3-2), the Thursday night getaway allowed me to be able to take in all eight regular season football games. Traditionally, since 2011, we have made an October getaway over one weekend, and that has almost always included a Friday departure which causes me to miss that week's football game. I honestly don't remember the last time I was able to watch all 8 regular season games. I think it was 2013!! I'm fairly confident that I watched all 11 football games in the fall of 2013.

More to come. It's time to get back on track with musical and state football coverage! I have some Mayer Lutheran notes to publish.
A new article (with similar information to what was posted a week ago) for B-B-E's fall musical has been posted at the newspaper's website: https://tinyurl.com/2kztc3fa.
Some football notes...
The Mayer Lutheran Crusaders average 28.2 points per game, and their strength is their defense, which is giving up just 12.2 points per game. B-B-E's excellent defense has given up 11.1 points a game through 10 games this fall. The Crusaders are led by senior quarterback Levi Hahn, whose backfield talents are complemented by senior running back Jack Grimsley. They also feature a big man up front, 300-pound senior lineman Gavin Lofgren. The Crusaders may have an 8-2 record compared to B-B-E's 10-0 mark, but they are no slouch. Make no mistake: Mayer Lutheran is the real deal. They will be the toughest opponent the Jaguars have faced this year. They play in an outstanding small school conference.
Side bar on the Crusaders...in 2021, when they won the Class 1A state title with a hard-fought 20-14 win against Minneota, the Crusaders featured a roster with 16 seniors. Wow! Then in 2022, they had another great season with 9 seniors on the roster. The season ended with a close loss in the Section 2A championship against Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity. The 2021 fall was a banner season for Mayer Lutheran, as their volleyball team also earned the Class 1A state title, their fourth in school history. They did so by defeating...Minneota. Quite the state tournament rivalry between those two schools!

**Here's a video featuring members of the football team being greeted by fans at the FargoDome after they beat Upsala/Swanville Area:
Thursday this week is jam packed with day time activities: two Veterans Day programs and two state pep fests. We'll see if I can make it to all four events. Fingers crossed.
