Here's a special video featuring the moment that the Jaguars essentially clinched the win at Fargo:
It is always worth noting and highlighting when a high school team makes a classy move. Down 36-12 in the fourth quarter while the Jaguars had just earned possession in Patriots territory, U/SA coaches signaled through the referees that they were putting JV players in the game with 9:44 left. They could have kept the first string in with at least a theoretical chance at a comeback. In that moment, however, with a short field, the Jaguars were poised to take a 42-12 or 44-12 lead. With a look to the 2024 season, U/SA wanted to get younger players in the game, and B-B-E answered in kind by putting their JV players in to play out the rest of the fourth quarter.
The Jaguars gained possession at that point on a Brett DeRoo interception. He was brought down at the U/SA 32-yard line. The Patriots were attempting to begin their eighth drive of the game. In their first 7 drives, they scored twice (the 4th and 5th drives). Across U/SA's first three possessions, the Jaguars had limited them to 28 net yards and one first down with three punts.
Noteworthy: the Jaguars racked up 281 yards in the first half with four touchdowns.
