A Mass of Christian Burial was held today for Mrs. Ruth Stalberger, who taught elementary school locally between the years of 1952 and 1998. In that period, she taught a total of 42 years in Brooten, Spring Hill and Belgrade. In four of those years, she took time away from teaching when her two children were born.
She was a dearly beloved teacher, according to everything I have read and heard about her! Just a wonderful, wonderful woman. I did not have the honor of having her as a teacher as an elementary student in Brooten in the late 1980s. (I had really great teachers there, of course!)
Her funeral was in Belgrade at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic church. I have a short video clip to share below that features part of one of the funeral's songs.
