Volleyball team earns top sub-section seed (VIDEO, SEEDINGS)

Both a tough strength-of-schedule plus a stellar 25-3 overall record have both earned the B-B-E Jaguars volleyball team the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Sub-Section 6A-South playoffs. The Central Minnesota Conference co-champion Jaguars completed the regular season with a four-set win at Paynesville Area earlier this week.

The playoff road starts at home!
For the sub-section quarterfinals, the Jaguars will host on the evening of Wednesday, October 23 with a 7 p.m. start time at the elementary gymnasium. Their opponent is to-be-determined. If they win, they will host a semifinal match two nights later on Friday, October 25.

To learn our quarterfinal opponent, we have to wait until Monday, October 21, when the play-in round matches take place in Section 6A. The Jaguars await the outcome of No. 8 Hancock hosting No. 9 Benson in a border clash. The Owls are 8-16 overall, while the Braves are 2-18. Oddly, Benson and Hancock did not meet in the regular season in spite of being only 17 miles apart on Highway 9.

Here's a video from the end of game two at Paynesville:

That's all I've got to post. I'll update again this evening. Tonight, we have an Eagle Scout ceremony for Odin Jensen at the Belgrade V.F.W. at 6 p.m. He is a Class of 2024 graduate and key lineman on the 2023 Jaguar football state semifinal team.

Sunday updates...
I learned today that the Litchfield Dragons girls' tennis team has earned the NO. 3 seed for the upcoming Class 1A state tournament. They ended the season for our Jaguars back on October 3 in the Section 6A quarterfinals. Litchfield will face unseeded Montevideo in the state quarterfinals. The Jaguars also played Montevideo in a match held in early September.
