Terrace Mill grand reopening is June 21-22; Saints win by one run!
In a complete change-of-pace from high school sports, here's a chance for you to get familiar with one of the most exciting weekends of the summer that's right on the horizon. Two weeks from now, everyone is invited to Terrace, Minnesota, to join in the fun of the Grand Reopening celebration for the historic Terrace Mill. The summer art class offerings are also noteworthy. It's terrific that the community of Terrace is getting the Mill open again and ready to be part of our lives again!
In amateur baseball news...
The Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team plays at Freeport at Black Sox Park on Saturday night in an exhibition game, and first pitch is at 7:30 p.m. They are hosting St. Martin tonight in a Stearns County League game. This week Wednesday, they defeated Paynesville at Paynesville in an exhibition game by a 4-2 score. Against the Pirates, Torii Johnson pitched a complete game for the Saints with 6 strikeouts and no earned runs.
UPDATE: in tonight's home game, the Saints prevailed by a 6-5 score over St. Martin. The Saints scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to erase a 5-2 deficit. The Martins extended a 3-2 lead with 2 runs scored in the top of the fourth. This was a terrific win for Elrosa, as the Martins entered tonight's game in first place in the SCL-South division. They banged out 12 hits against four St. Martin pitchers. Ashton Dingmann started for Elrosa and got the win in 7 innings. Luke Dingmann closed and earned the save and surrendered just 1 hit, no walks with 1 strikeout.
Elrosa improved to 5-3 in the SCL-North division, while St. Martin is now 7-2 in the south. The Saints won't resume SCL action until they travel to Roscoe on Sunday, June 15. Their next home game is not until Friday, June 20 against Royalton in the opener for the Elite 8 tournament.
