Now This is Cool = Ten B-B-E Speech Team Members Advance from the Section 5A Meet to the State Tournament

Today at the Section 5A meet at the New London-Spicer High School, ten members of the Sub-Section 5A-19 Champion B-B-E Jaguar Speech team advanced to "State". These ten individuals advance as either a regular participant or an alternate. The Speech State tournament will be held April 20-21 at St.Paul South High School.

Congradulations to Head Coach Julie Lloyd, Assistant Coach Pauline Segaar, and all members of the 2007 B-B-E Speech team.

Only a few hours after those great accomplishments were earned, the high school's theater stage was the site of the annual B-B-E Band and Choir Spring concert. Most of the speech team was on hand as they are also members of band and choir. What a wonderful small school we have at B-B-E, with all the great opportunities our students have to showcase their academic and extra-curricular talents.

Getting back to the spring sports teams, the Jaguars baseball team will hopefully open their season this Monday, when they host Maple Lake in a Central Minnesota Conference game. According to Elrosa native Matt Bauer, who is caretaker of Saints Field, the diamond should be ready for action this week. Meanwhile, the Lady Jaguars softball team will travel to Maple Lake to face the Irish in their season opener. On Tuesday, the Boys and Girls Track and Field squads will host a meet at the high school sports complex. That same day, the Jaguars baseball team will travel to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. The Lady Jaguars have their first home game of the season on Tuesday as well, a 5:00 home game with Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. (See schedules at right one page down on this website.)
