Jaguars Wrestling Hosts Eight-Team Invitational on Friday At the High School, Team Grabs Fourth Place, With Six Grapplers Making the Final Four Round


The Jaguars wrestling team, fresh off of a 4-4 dual meet December, hosted their annual Jaguar Invitational on Friday night beginning at 3:30.

Teams at the tournament are Sauk Centre, B-B-E, Ottertail Central (Henning/Battle Lake co-op), Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, Becker, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, and MACCRAY.

A-C-GC is the defending champion from 2007, while K-M-S was the runner-up by a 222-164.5 point margin. In 2008, K-M-S is the favorite going into Friday's action, and they are currently ranked #3 in the Class 1A state rankings. A-C-GC is ranked #4.

**Fresh update at 9:30...The Jaguars landed six grapplers in the Final Four round for hometown fans to cheer for, with Cole Tensen, Austin Kampsen, and Brent Goodenbour all wrestling in the championship of their respective weight classes.

**BBE ended up holding 4th place when the finals were finished.

4th- Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (Host team) 85.5

7th- Sauk Centre 66.0

8th- MACCRAY 33.0

The Jaguars girls basketball team hung on for a wild ride at Kimball, narrowly defeating the Cubs by a 65-62 margin in overtime! With the win, their overall record is squared at 4-4 (2-1 Central Minnesota Conference). Their next action is next Tuesday night at home when they host Holdingford (5-5, 1-2 CMC).

The B-squad and C-squad both won. The C-squad won by one point over the Cubs, with the B-squad winning by 20 points.
