Santa Claus gives plenty of cheer and excitement to the Belgrade area tonight - Down in Rockford, Jaguars girls basketball wins at Rockford 84-66

Over 80 children were given a Christmas present on behalf of the Belgrade Commercial Club. A crowd of over 110 was on hand for the Belgrade Bucks drawing at City Hall, which took place at a little after 6pm. The Wold family also gave horse-drawn wagon rides from 4pm to 7pm. The weather was good enough for the event...cold, but with no wind.

(Calm before the storm!)

The Jaguars girls basketball team is off to the best start since the 1997-1998 season after improving to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Central Minnesota Conference tonight. Next week, the only varsity event I've got on the calendar is the Jaguars girls basketball on Monday night. The Junior High girls basketball team wraps up their regular season next week as well, when they travel to Sauk Centre on Tuesday.

*A head's up notice...The Jaguars vs. Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls basketball game on Monday night, December 22nd will be aired on 107.1 FM "Smooth Magic 107" in Glenwood. Pre-game coverage will start a little after 7. It is a home game for the Jaguars. The Mainstreeters are currently 7-0 after defeating Foley on Thursday night. That is the best start to any girls basketball season at Sauk Centre.

The school board meeting will be on Monday night, December 29, at 7:30 at the high school.

The Senior High band/choir Christmas concert will be on Monday, January 5th.
This is a reschedule from December 15th.

Photos of the Christmas events in the B-B-E area have been uploaded to my Sauk Centre Herald online photo gallery. The URL is= http://saukherald.mycapture.com

On Saturday (Dec 20) from 9am to 11am, Santa Claus will be at Micki's in Belgrade. Another chance for your child to see the jolly old fellow!

This month has been such an exciting time for the B-B-E area. On November 29th, Santa was available at Greater Visions Photography for photos with the kids. On December 6th, Santa stopped in Elrosa to greet the children there. Last weekend, on December 13th, Santa was on hand at John O's Dinner Theater. Then tonight, he was at City Hall in Belgrade.
