Travis Winter takes 152-pound title at home wrestling tournament

The Jaguars wrestling team placed a very respectable 5th in their 8-team home tournament on Friday night. They out-performed neighboring Sauk Centre, who finished 6th, by totaling 78.5 points compared to the Mainstreeters 70.

Team scoring: (1) Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 195.5 (2) Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 154.5 (3) Becker 111 (4) Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 88 (5) Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 78.5 (6) Sauk Centre 70 (7) Otter Tail Central 49.5 (8) MACCRAY 46.5.

Junior 152-pound wrestler Travis Winter went 3-0 on the evening to win the title in one of the middle weight classes. Another junior, Cole Tensen, placed 2nd in the 140-pound division, while also earning two falls along the way.
