State tournament update - NL-S Wildcats win 67-51 for third place in Class AA

Ada-Borup won the Class A title after giving Cedar Mountain/Comfrey a 61-31 beating.

The NL-S Wildcats defeated Jordan in the third-place Class AA game.

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted fell in the Class AA girls state championship 54-50 to Caledonia, who finished the season with a perfect record at 31-0. HL-W-W finishes 29-4, after earning the Sub-Section 5AA-North championship, the Section 5AA title, and now a Class AA State Runner-up trophy. They were runner-up in the Central Minnesota Conference with a 12-2 record, one game ahead of the Jaguars girls basketball team.

See below for future playoff pairings for the Jaguars basketball teams... big changes coming for post-season section assignments. B-B-E is now the southeastern most team in their basketball playoff section.

What's interesting is that I think Pierz ended up taking our spot in Section 6AA... as the Pioneers are moved out of Section 5AA for the next two years.

In football playoffs...I've done a little more research and I feel that the Jaguars shouldn't hang their heads too much about the new playoff section they're in (Section 4A), even though it includes Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, and St.Bernard's.. honestly the Jaguars have the ability and opportunity to become a 3rd- or 4th-best team in Section 4A. There are a handful of some pretty low-talent private schools in this conference.
