The Jaguars (5-13) will open up against #8 seed Browerville/Eagle Valley on Tuesday, February 16 at 6pm at the A-C-GC High School in Grove City. The winner advances to the Section 5A quarterfinals, which will be held later that same evening.
Osakis and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle will be facing off at the same time at A-C-GC in another play-in match.
For the Jaguars, their #9 seed is a nice improvement over their #12 ranking back in 2009, when they had to open up against then-#5-seeded Minnewaska Area. The Jaguars fell 39-23 in that playoff-opening match.
In 2008, the Jaguars lost 38-31 to Holdingford in the Section 5A opener.
In 2007, the Jaguars won 42-32 over Meadow Creek Christian/Rivers Academy in the play-in round before losing 53-15 to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted in the 5A quarterfinals.

Tonight (Thursday) the Jaguars boys basketball team travels to Rockford for a CMC game against the Rockets. It will be a challenging game. Rockford is 5-3 in the CMC and 7-12 overall. The Jaguars are 15-3 overall and 8-1 in the CMC, holding first place alone as they get into the second half of the conference season.
The Jaguars girls basketball team hosts the 9-9 Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg Fighting Saints tonight (Thursday) in a non-conference game. They then host 10-9 Holdingford on Friday night in a Central Minnesota Conference game. The Huskers are 4-5 in the CMC, with a half-game lead over the Jaguars for 4th place in the standings.
