Jaguars girls tennis splits season-opening matches at home triangular

The Jaguars girls tennis team went 1-1 at its home triangular on Friday, losing 6-1 to Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd before pulling out a nice 4-3 win over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area.


  • The win over LP-GE/USA came with two of the three Jaguars' doubles teams taking third-set tiebreakers. The duo of Jordan Gruendemann/McKenzie Winter won a grueling 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 match to give the Jaguars the win.

The team travels to Milbank, S.D. today for another triangular.

Many area sports fans will be traveling to Bird Island later today for the Class C state amateur baseball tournament. Lake Henry takes on Raymond at 5:00pm, with St.Martin vs. Sacred Heart to follow at 7:30.
