Section 5A girls' tennis update

In the Section 5A semifinals held yesterday at Gold's Gym in Sartell, top-seeded Annandale defeated #5-seed St. Cloud Cathedral 6-1, while #2-seed Providence Academy beat #3-seed Glencoe-Silver Lake 4-3. In the section championship held Monday afternoon, Providence Academy defeated Annandale 6-1 to advance to the state tournament.

In the quarterfinal round last Thursday, Providence Academy defeated the Jaguars girls' tennis team 6-1. The Jaguars finish a very successful season with an overall record of 9-9. It marks the second-best record in school history for the tennis team, which was founded in 1992.
