More footage from Monday night's B-B-E community meeting

Superintendent Bullard discusses the local tax levy and what the appetite is for a property tax increase...

**Note: in Nov. 2010, local taxpayers approved a 10-year extension to an $837 per pupil levy by a slim 54-46 percent margin. The actual vote totals showed 735 "yes" to 636 "no" votes on the 10-year extension.

Had it not been approved, the district would have lost over $550,000 of funding beginning with the 2011-12 fiscal year.

My two cents: Mr. Bullard nailed it on the head...there is no appetite in today's economic climate for arbitrary property tax increases. Times are tough enough as it is.
