Jaguars win today's home varsity basketball tournament

The B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team went 3-0 today in their home varsity tournament in a field of eight strong teams. They edged Maranatha Christian and Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted to advance to the championship game.

In the championship game, they won 51-49 in two overtimes against Melrose Area. The second overtime ended in sudden death fashion, and James Kuefler won the tip off for B-B-E, fed Brian Goodwin in the back court to set up the final play of the game. Goodwin shot a pass to Trey Heinsius on the left sideline, and Heinsius went in for a runner on the baseline and drained a shot on the left block to end the game in thrilling fashion.

A shot by James Kuefler puts the Jaguars in the lead in the second half vs. Melrose after they trailed down the stretch...

...and Trey Heinsius hit the game winner in this video clip...the whole game was "ridiculously" entertaining considering it's just summer basketball.
