Jaguar wrestlers improve to 2-0 in duals
In a non-conference dual on the home mats, the B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team improved to 2-0 in dual meets with a 40-33 win over Royalton/Upsala. R/U (0-4) had three forfeits on the night, and Patrick Rooney's 8-3 decision at 220 pounds handed the win to the Jaguars, who trailed 27-25 after the 170-pound match was complete. This was quite the win for the Jaguars, as they would've lost without having all weights above 152 filled out. Great job!
Up next: a hugely important section dual against Paynesville Area (4-1) on the home mats on Thursday night. The Bulldogs were involved in a West Central Conference triangular in Benson tonight and won twice over Benson and also Sauk Centre/Melrose. When Benson squared off with SC-M, 12 of the 14 matches were decided by pin or forfeit, with the Braves prevailing 42-36. The Bulldogs drubbed Benson 60-21 and SC-M 46-21.
