Good heaven's sakes: in just a few years, Rockford Area may be three times as large as B-B-E. I saw this news blurb and felt like sharing..."The district is experiencing growth, and projections put overall student population at around 1,800 for the 2017-18 school year (currently at 1,588). Increased enrollment is projected for all three of the schools, with all-day, every-day kindergarten, the addition of STEM middle school curriculum, and building and grounds improvements from bonding contributing to higher estimates."

The Rockets (5-6) host the Jaguars boys' basketball team next Tuesday night in the third CMC game of the year. Interesting: as of December 20, when the Rockets were 1-5, five of their first six opponents had a combined 23-1 record. Their lone win at that point was on December 14 by a 68-51 score over Dassel-Cokato...who is now 0-9 on the season.

During Rockford's current 4-game winning streak, two of their opponents are both 7-2, while the other two (St. James Area and Holdingford) are a combined 3-13. They beat West Lutheran 71-70 prior to the Christmas break, and West Lutheran then beat Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted over the Christmas break 71-64 in the opener of the HLWW tournament in Howard Lake.

It will be fascinating to see how next week plays out.
