Preseason volleyball rankings!

Whew! The Jaguars volleyball team must have impressed at least a few people over the summer, as they've come in ranked in a tie for #3 with Fillmore Central in the preseason Class A state rankings. I honestly don't believe the Jaguars have ever been ranked that high in a preseason volleyball poll. They've been ranked in a state poll ever since August of 2005, when the preseason poll was released for that season. WOW! That is something everyone associated with the program should be proud of. It also sets a high bar for the current team, one that I know they're up for.

Ranked 13th in Class A is section nemesis Nevis.

Ranked #7 (tied with Jackson County Central) in Class AA is conference rival Maple Lake. Also ranked in Class AA is Melrose Area, coming in at 13th place. Absent from the state rankings is Sauk Centre, but as good as they're program is I bet they'll have something to say about the rankings once the regular season is underway.
